State Educators Rising Results
On March 24, the SHS Educators Rising Chapter attended the state conference and competition in Lincoln. Paige Fisher was elected to the state office of Vice President of Membership for Nebraska State Educators Rising and will fulfill that role beginning this summer through the 22-23 school year.
Thirteen students competed in projects including writing and illustrating a book, developing a lesson plan and teaching it to a class of students, creating materials to teach lessons in an elementary classroom or creating a bulletin board that is used by students to interact with while learning about the subject. SHS qualified 11 students to attend the National Educators Rising Conference and Competition in Washington DC, June 24-27.
The results of the competition are as follows:
- In Children's Literature K-3 Sadie Cole placed 3rd and qualified for Nationals
- In Children's Literature K-3 Valeria Arriaga and Alyssa Mendoza placed 4th and qualified for Nationals
- In Lesson Planning and Delivery - Humanities - Vanessa Harpold placed 1st and qualified for Nationals
- In Lesson Planning and Delivery - Arts- Paige Fisher placed 1st and qualified for Nationals
- In Lesson Planning and Delivery - STEM- Delaney Haun placed 2nd and qualified for Nationals
- In Teacher Created Materials - Regan Mader placed 2nd and qualified for Nationals
- In Teacher Created Materials - Grace Baker placed 3rd and qualified for Nationals
- In Teacher Created Materials - A'Mari White placed 4th
- In Interactive Bulletin Board - Ethan Gion and Peyton Kriewald placed 1st and qualified for Nationals
- In Interactive Bulletin Board - Sabrina Gurrola placed 11th
- In Project Visualize Service Project - Sydney Estes and Saide Cole placed 1st and qualified for Nationals
