Join the Scottsbluff Public Schools Board of Education and Staff in celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Scottsbluff Public Schools Education Center on Saturday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m.

Located at 2617 College Park in Scottsbluff, the new Education Center will be introduced to the public with brief remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Early Childhood Learning Center Entrance on the East side of the building. Following the ceremony, guests are encouraged to enjoy guided tours of the facility and light refreshments.

This impressive three-story, 177,000-square-foot building, purchased in late 2023 for $1.5 million, represents a major step forward in SBPS’s vision to provide one cohesive program and location for Birth to Five Families in the District.

“The completion of the Scottsbluff Public Schools Education Center, a project that directly aligns with our Core Values and Strategic Plan, will proudly serve our students and families for years to come while enhancing the education we deliver system-wide,” said Dr. Andrew Dick, SBPS Superintendent. “This project was completed during a two-year period in which Scottsbluff Public Schools reduced our overall levy by 38 cents, resulting in significant savings to our taxpayers. Completing the project in such a manner would not have been possible without the sound fiscal management and oversight by the Board of Education and District staff, as well as the use of skilled in-house labor and the reuse of existing materials acquired through the purchase of the building.”

The new facility is home to Bear Cub Preschool, opening this fall with 11 classrooms serving 220 students ages 3 to 5, and the Sixpence Birth to Three Program, which supports 30 children and their families. In addition, the Education Center houses the District Office, the SBPS Family Success Center, and several district operations departments, including IT and Central Receiving.

All members of the Scottsbluff community are welcome to attend and help celebrate this important milestone for local education.   For more information, contact the SBPS District Office at 308-635-6200.
