Scottsbluff High School is proud to announce the appointment of Mary Sanchez as the new Head Coach for the boys and girls Cross Country teams for the 2025-2026 school year.
A 1994 graduate of Scottsbluff High School, Sanchez brings deep roots and a lifelong passion for the sport to her new role. During her time as a Bearcat student-athlete, she competed in both cross country and track. Most recently, she has been an integral part of the current program, serving as assistant Cross Country coach for the past two years.
In addition to coaching, Sanchez teaches Health Sciences at SHS and sponsors the school’s highly successful HOSA – Future Health Professionals chapter, further demonstrating her commitment to student success both in and out of the classroom.
"We are excited for Mary and our student-athletes in the Cross Country program,” said Nate Rock, SHS Activities Director. “Throughout the interview process, our team was impressed with Mary's vision for the future as well as her commitment to our strong Cross Country tradition. Her ability to build strong, positive relationships and passion for the sport will serve our student-athletes well."
