Scottsbluff Public Schools is proud to announce that the District has received a Diamond Badge Certification in School Safety and Security from the Nebraska Department of Education as part of their “Place School Safety First” Badge Certification program. The badge identifies and recognizes Nebraska public and non-public school districts meeting the highest standards of safety and security. SBPS has earned the highest distinction, the Diamond badge, demonstrating dedication to school safety and security. Criteria for the Badge Certification include school districts having built safety and threat assessment teams, having an emergency operations plan, developing safety & security policies, completing safety drills, conducting suicide and other safety trainings, as well as having digital, substance use, dating violence, and countless other safety best practices to keep school communities and the members free from harm's way.
“Scottsbluff Public Schools is proud to be recognized with the Diamond Badge Certification by the Nebraska Department of Education for our school safety and security efforts and procedures,” said Superintendent Dr. Andrew Dick. “For several years now, school safety and security has been the highest of priorities within our school district. With thanks to our Board of Education for their support, we have invested in training, staff, and building improvements that reflect our commitment to student and staff safety. We also understand that our work in this area is never done, and we must continue to stay abreast with the latest trends and threats and conduct ongoing training in this crucial area.”
