Scottsbluff High School, in partnership with a committee made up of past graduates, coaches, community members, past employees and former athletes, are accepting nominations for the 2026 Scottsbluff High School Athletic Hall of Fame. On behalf of the Scottsbluff Hall of Fame Committee we thoroughly appreciate the Bearcat family as we proudly represent our school and look forward to the Induction Class of 2026.

Purpose

The purpose of the Scottsbluff High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize the athletic accomplishments of Scottsbluff High School students, coaches and others associated with Scottsbluff High School whose contributions to athletics are worthy of merit. 

Scottsbluff High School Athletic Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria

For Athletes

  • Waiting Period: 10 years after graduation
  • Special circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g. illness).
  • Nominees must demonstrate good moral character during and after high school. The committee reserves the right to remove any inductee at any time for moral or character violations.
  • Primary consideration will be based on accomplishments achieved while attending Scottsbluff High School.
  • Accomplishments after SHS may be considered, but are not the primary rationale for induction.
  • Participation and success in multiple sports will be given high priority to encourage multi-sport participation.
  • All-State recognition (Omaha World-Herald or Lincoln Journal Star) is strongly considered. This includes:
    • First or Second Team honors in team sports (Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, etc.)
    • First or Second place recognition in individual event sports (Track & Field, Wrestling, Swimming, Tennis, etc.)
  • Members of State Championship or State Runner-Up teams will receive consideration. Additional consideration may be given to school record holders.

For Coaches

  • Waiting Period: None
  • Nominees must demonstrate good moral character during and after their coaching career. The committee reserves the right to remove any inductee at any time for moral or character violations.
  • Special circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Primary consideration will be based on coaching accomplishments at Scottsbluff High School.
  • Accomplishments outside of SHS may be considered, but are not the primary rationale.

For Teams

  • Waiting Period: 5 years

For Meritorious Service

  • Considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Nominees must have demonstrated exemplary service to Scottsbluff High School student-athletes.

For Families

  • Considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Families must have demonstrated exemplary service to the Scottsbluff High School Athletic Department over multiple generations.
  • Supporting data and documentation should accompany the nomination.

The 2026 Scottsbluff High School Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class will be introduced during halftime of the Scottsbluff vs. Grand Island Northwest Vikings football game on Friday, October 23, 2026.

All inductees will also be honored at a dinner held prior to the game at Scottsbluff High School.
