Helping Your Child Transition to Preschool
It is typical for young children to cry on the first few days of school as they adjust to a new routine and schedule. Often times this only lasts for a few minutes after you leave and they quickly join in to the classroom activities. You can help your child with this transition by reading books such as The Kissing Hand or reading it together online at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXT1ANWka4A
It’s also a good idea to begin practicing with your child a good-bye routine before the first day of school.
Snacks and Lunch
All students are Scottsbluff Bear Cub Preschool are provided a healthy snack during their time at school. Full Day students will be given a snack in the morning and one in the afternoon. Additionally, full day students will be provided a school lunch. For this reason, all full day students will be asked to complete a 2017-18 Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Application. Half day students will not be asked to resubmit this form, although you may resubmit at any time for review of changes in fees due to financial changes in your home
Medical Issues and Food Allergies
We are more than happy to accommodate food allergies at Scottsbluff Bear Cub Preschool once we have the proper paperwork in place. This paperwork can be picked up in our office and must be completed by your physician. Please make arrangements for this before school begins if possible. Any other allergies and medical conditions that require a medical plan can also be taken care of before school begins if you contact our office and get the proper paperwork. We cannot provide alternate snacks and specialized action plans without written paperwork completed by your physician in advance.
