Scottsbluff Public Schools Administrators Reach Career Goals through New Opportunities

Scottsbluff Public Schools values the importance of identifying and developing new leaders. As confirmation of the effectiveness of this priority, several current SBPS administrators are moving into new positions next fall.

Jeremy Behnke has been named Principal of Lincoln Heights Elementary for the 2021-22 school year.  Behnke is a former Lincoln Heights student and SHS graduate who has spent 13 of his 17 years in education working for the District.  Since 2018, Behnke has served as the Principal of Lake Minatare Elementary, Science Content Area Specialist and After School Program Director.  Mr. Behnke has a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Arts in Education, both received from the University of Nebraska Kearney and will replace Kraig Weyrich who is retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

With Behnke taking on a new position, Ashlen Schaneman, Lincoln Heights Assistant Principal has been selected as Principal of Lake Minatare Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year.  Mrs. Schaneman has a Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and Masters in Educational Administration K-8 from Chadron State College.  Schaneman was Assistant Principal at Lincoln Heights this past school year and prior to that was Instructional Coach at Westmoor Elementary. 

Krystal Rodriguez will serve as Assistant Principal at Lincoln Heights Elementary beginning next school year.  Currently, Rodriguez serves as the District Extended Campus Learning Coordinator and previously taught first grade at Roosevelt Elementary.
