SHS Students named to All State Chorus

Scottsbluff High School Students selected to NMEA All-State Chorus
Each year, approximately 3000 of the best high school musicians in the state audition for the Nebraska All-State Band, Chorus, Jazz Band and Orchestra which are sponsored by the Nebraska Music Educators Association.  Selection as a member of one of these groups is one of the highest music honors attainable in Nebraska. MR. Chris Johnson, Chair of Choral Affairs for the Nebraska Music Educators Association, is pleased to announce that:

Anna Harveson - Soprano II
Elli Bauerkemper - Soprano I
Harley Herman - Alto II
Jatin Cranmore - Bass II
Javier Jimenez - Tenor I
Kennedy Ronne - Tenor I
Kyler Kautz - Bass II
Roberto Avila - Bass II
Ty Corr - Tenor II
Mandy Peister - Alto II (Alternate)

will be among the 440 students selected to be a part of the 2018 All-State Chorus. Guest conductor for the group will be Dr. Z. Randall Stroope. Dr. Stroope is an American composer, conductor, and lecturer. He has had recent conducting engagements in Hong Kong, Rome, Barcelona, Singapore, Canterbury Cathedral (England), Berliner Dom (Germany), Salzburger Dom (Austria), St. John (Canada), Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, D.C.), Carnegie Hall (New York), and nine performances for Mass at the Vatican. The chorus will rehearse Wednesday, November 14th through Friday, November 16th on the University of Nebraska Lincoln campus, the host site of 2018 NMEA Conference/Clinic. A final public concert will be held on Friday, November 16th at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Nebraska Lincoln campus.
