Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation Seeking Foundation Director to Support New Projects

The Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation has recently elected a new Board of Directors and will be working to support new School District initiatives such as the SHS Career Academies, Every Child, Every Day, Everywhere (3E) and a new Grow Our Own Teacher program.   In order to support this work, the Foundation Board is seeking applications for a newly created SBPS Foundation Director position.  

The Scottsbluff Public Schools Foundation is seeking a highly motivated individual who will plan and implement strategies to cultivate and manage relationships with large foundations, community service organizations and corporate partners; create and implement major giving campaigns and special events on behalf of the Foundation and the District; and develop and submit grant proposals. 


“This position provides an exciting opportunity to make an impact in the lives of Scottsbluff students and proactively support the work of the School District.” said SBPS Foundation President Jon Hunzeker, “Our Foundation Director will collaborate with District staff, and the SBPS Foundation Board to meet the program goals supporting Scottsbluff Schools’ mission within the community and to provide resources that will have a direct impact on students and teachers in the classroom .”



         Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Nonprofit Development, Sales, Marketing or Business
  • Fundraising experience
  • Familiarity with Scottsbluff community
  • An understanding of the State’s public education system
  • Experience in managing volunteers/donor relations
  • Event planning experience
  • High energy level, persistence, and self-motivation
  • Outstanding written and presentation skills
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Other similar or relevant experience will be considered


  • Criminal and financial background check required for hire
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license
