Chaley Jensen
Hello scholars & parents, my name is Chaley Jensen and in my classroom we do science!
I'm in Room 154 and teach Physical Science and Biology.
2020-2021 will be my first year teaching with Scottsbluff Public Schools. In early 2019 I moved to the Valley to work as an educator teaching western Nebraskans about birds in our area. After years of traveling I am thrilled for Scottsbluff to be my home.
I grew up in Nebraska City, Nebraska and participated in show choir, student council, science club, & FCCLA when I was in high school. In 2015 I completed my bachelor's at University of Northern Iowa, majoring in Biology. Currently I am a student in the Transitional Certification Program at University of Nebraska-Kearney and will become a fully certified teacher in May 2021, receiving a master's in Curriculum & Instruction in Spring 2022. Before teaching I worked as an educator at Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, Colorado and I coordinated youth rock climbing programs at a climbing gym in Denver; I'm a summer camp counselor at heart but find my grounding in the classroom. In my free time I love being outdoors--on the water, climbing a big rock, or looking for birds. Staying active is the best for you! I assistant coach SHS Cheerleading -- we practice in the mornings but you can always find me in my classroom after school. Go Bearcats!
I so look forward to exploring, inquiring, and learning about science this year with you.
Students & scholars: welcome! Have a fabulous school year!
