Hello Bearcats! Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am Mrs. Harre and one of the SHS Health Science Career Academy instructors. I am a Scottsbluff High School graduate and have a large amount of pride for SHS. I graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. I have been a registered nurse for 22 years. I worked for ten years at Saint Elizabeth's Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska and while working in the hospital my focus was Medical, Oncology, and Stroke care.
My family then moved to Scottsbluff where I was a school nurse in both the Gering and Scottsbluff Public School districts. I have my State of Nebraska Career Education Teaching Permit and this will be my sixth year of instructing in the SHS Health Science Career Academy. I enjoy sharing my expertise and experiences with SHS students and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals! Last year I was honored to recieve the Nebraska Department of Education Richard Katt Outstanding Health Science Career Educator Award.
This year I will teach Project Lead the Way Medical Interventions, Introduction to Health Sciences and the WNCC dual credits classes of Medical Terminology, Basic Nursing Assistant, and Medication Aide. I am also one of the co-sponsors for the career student organization HOSA Future Health Professionals. I look forward to teaching those classes, advising HOSA, and meeting all the students that will be in them!
One of my favorite things to do is watch our son, Tyler, play basketball! And to cheer on all the Bearcats in their sports and activities! GO BEARCATS!
