Curriculum

  • We have a Preschool Learning that is used in all classroom with common skill and themes.  Each teacher presents the skill in a developmentally appropriate level within common themes throughout the building.  For instance, if all classrooms are focusing on sorting the 3 year old classrooms may only sort by one attribute, such as color.  This may sound something like: "Sort these shapes into red and blue groups."  The 4 year old classrooms may also be sorting, but using 2 or more attributes, such as color and shape.  This may sound something like: "Sort theses shapes into red sqares, red circles, blue squares, and blue cirles."

The Preschool Learning Guide was developed by our teachers by blending the Teaching Strategies GOLD Standards, Nebraska Early Learning Standards, and Kindergarten Readiness skills that were identified by our district Kindergarten Teachers.

Our classrooms also utilize the Second Step Early Learning Curriclum for supporting social and emotional skill development.
