Welcome to Mrs. Burton's 4th Grade Class!!
Degrees and Certifications:
I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach 4th Grade again this year. This is my eleventh year teaching and I am having a BLAST!
I graduated from Chadron State College in May of 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Science in Education and a minor in math. I also have an English Language Learners (ELL) endorsement through Wayne State College and a Masters Degree in Gifted and Talented Education through Lamar University.
In math we are reviewing our fourth grade standards to ensure your child is ready for fifth grade.
In English Language Arts we are busy studying Greek Mythology!
In social studies we are learning about economics.
In my classroom we come up with our classroom rules together, they are as follows:
1. Be Safe
2. Be Respectful
3. Be Responsible
4. Use Your Manners
5. Do Your Best
I expect my students to abide by these rules at all times, as these are the rules that THEY have set. It is my job to remind students when they are not following their own rules, and provide guidance as to how they can follow them in the future.
May 20th is our last day of school. Students are dismissed at 11:30. Thank you for a WONDERFUL year!
4th Grade track day is May 19th. Please send your child to school ready to run! We will ride a bus to BMS (9:45) and walk back after the events conclude (10:30ish). We will have a picnic lunch on the school yard. Please send your students to school with a sack lunch on this day. THANKS!!
We are headed to the Scottsbluff National Monument on Monday, May 17th. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately and brings a sack lunch. We will be out of the building from 9:30-1:30.
