Welcome to 4th Grade!
Degrees and Certifications:
Hello and welcome to our classroom website. I am originally from Texas and went to Texas A&M University. I moved to Nebraska with my husband about 6 years ago and was a substitute for Lincoln Heights before becoming a teacher. I have loved having my very own classroom for the past 5 years and feel blessed to be apart of my students lives!!
We are learning a new reading curriculum called Wit and Wisdom. It is wonderful because it integrates science, art, reading, and writing all into one package the kids are really responding to.
We have a new way of doing math that requires each student to think in their own way and though it can be confusing I am seeing amazing things in each of my students. Remember that it is ok for them to struggle! :) Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Always remember reading is the key to learning! :)
Each student is expected to fill in the subjects of their planner with the class daily and get them signed by parents every night. This is to create a connection between school and home and to allow parents to know what is being taught daily. This is the perfect opportunity to go over what your student has learned during school that day. Each student is also to bring back their folder every day and take them home every night. My goal is to create a deep understanding that home and school are connected for the students. Thank you for participation in our classroom!
