Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Angie Shaw
Welcome to a New School Year!
I'm Mrs. Angie Shaw and I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher at Longfellow! I am a graduate of Chadron State College, with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, & also a graduate of Lesley University in Cambridge, Massacheusetts with a Masters Degree in Educational Technology. This year marks my 15th year as a professional educator. In the past I have taught as a 3rd grade classroom teacher & I have also taught as the elementary Library/Media Specialist here at Longfellow.
I absolutely love teaching first grade & I am looking forward to our year ahead together! My husband Steve and I live in Gering with our naughty black lab Tuff. Our son Kaleb & his wife Megan live in Gering. In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, photography, freelance writing, and spending time with family.
My philosophy of education is that teaching 7 learning serve as the colors of wonder that are added to the pallette of a child's imagination. I wholeheartedly believe that parents are a child's most important teachers, & parents are always welcome in my classroom! I look forward to working together with you this year as we strive to help your child reach his or her academic goals & personal milestones in our year together.
