Welcome to Brooks Talkington's web page.
Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Brooks Talkington and I've taught at Bluffs Middle School for 21 years. I love being a Bearcat!
I knew from the time I was a little girl that I wanted to be a teacher. Both of my parents are retired teachers. I was an athlete throughout high school and college and have spent a huge part of my life in a gym.
I graduated from Chadron State College with my undergraduate degree and have a Master's from Lesley University.
My husband, Shane, is an Ag teacher at Scottsbluff High School. We have two kids, Brayden and Tate. Brayden played volleyball and graduated from Martin Methodist University with a business degree. Tate is in 9th grade at SHS. We live out in the country and enjoy rodeo and livestock showing. My kids have always been involved in 4H and FFA.
Important Course Information
Each week 7th and 8th-grade students bring their PE clothes on Monday and take them home to launder on Friday. PE clothing consists of a t-shirt, gym shorts, socks, tennis shoes, body wash, and deodorant. These items can stay in their PE lockers all week.
If a student misses a class then they are welcome to earn the daily points they missed by attending open gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:45 am to 7:15am. Working out for 15 minutes during open gym will earn back one day of PE points. This is not mandatory but can be very helpful in order to earn an A in PE class. When attending open gym please have students enter through the main gym doors on the west side of BMS.
