Welcome back to the 2018-2019 school year at BMS!

Hi!  Welcome back to school!  My name is Ms. Schlagel.  This is my sixth year at Bluffs Middle School and 12th year in education.   I earned my bachelors at Chadron State College and I am currently continuing my education in middle school math.  I am looking forward to another great year, helping students in finding confidence in themselves and growing in their successes.

Sometimes, it takes us a little longer to process/grasp the information being taught and learned, but with some time and patience, we will all grow at our own potential.

I am excited to be teaching Wilson reading this year along with co-teaching in Language Arts classes.  Co-teaching is always a great opportunity to work with other great teachers and give students the chance to have two teachers in the class giving instruction in different ways to meet the needs of all students.

School is off to a great start.  I am looking forward to seeing the kids and listeing to all their summer adventures as they share them with all of us.  I look forward to watching students persevere throughout the year and watch their confidence within themselves grow. Here at Bluffs Middle School, there are many resources and opportunities for students to utilize to grow in their academics. I am looking forward to a great year and to see all the students growth and successes.

Have a great year!  :)

Classroom Calendar

  • There is a monthly calendar in my room that students utilize to know when assignments are due, when quizzes and tests are coming up, and school functions are occurring.

Classroom Resources

  • In the 8th grade resource room, there are visuals on the walls to provide as reminders of the formulas for math concepts, and of school and classroom expectations and procedures.  There are two Special Edcuation teachers that students can utilize for guidance and support.  Students have computers for resources along with a promethean board that teachers use for displaying and sharing information.
