Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
Hi, my name is Ms. Schlagel. I am very excited for this school year. I am very grateful to see each and everyone of my students in person and in classes. This is my ninth year at Bluffs Middle School and 15th year in education. This summer I was excited to finish my Masters degree. (A Master of Education, Learning and Technology from WGU.) As we continue using and working with technology, it was great to learn and grow with my skills using all the new technology that we utilize.
I am blessed to work for an amazing school district that has amazing leadership, staff, and workers across the district. We are all embracing each other and doing our best to continue providing resources to help families through this new way of learning. Many of my colleagues continue sharing many resources for families to utilize throughout the school year. As we all continue to grow and learn from past and current experiences, I cannot express how grateful I am to be working with an amazing staff. I am also grateful for amazing parents that we continue to work with every year and being a part of teams that supports each student we embrace. Remember to please take care of yourselves, each other, and take this time to grow together as a family, finding new and interesting facts about each other, learn new things through the resources, and try a new recipe for the family dinner. :)
I always share with my students my love of learning and growing myself and I strive to build that excitement in my classroom with my students. Building up student's confidence and excitment for learning is someting I strive for every year. I look forward to a great year! :)
Sometimes, it takes us a little longer to process/grasp the information being taught and learned, but with some time and patience, we will all grow at our own potential.
There is a classroom calendar that has upcoming events, assignments, and assessments that students can refer to for reminders.
In the 6th-grade resource room, there are visuals on the walls for reminders of school and classroom expectations and procedures. The resource room is located on the same floor has the core teachers. There are two resource teachers and three paras to provide support and guidance to the 6th-grade team. Students have computers for resources along with a Promethean board that teachers use for displaying and sharing information. There are many opportunties for students to grow and learn with tutoring, meeting with teachers and having resources on their computers for classes that students can reference to for help and questions.
