Ms. Jamie Batterman

I am a proud Western Nebraska native, raised in Bridgeport. Shortly after graduating from high school, I began working in the field Human Services. I graduated from Chadron State College in 2001, earning a B.A. in Human Services with a Family and Consumer Sciences Comprehensive. While I loved this career field, my passion for learning and teaching, as well as my advocacy for kids led me back to the college classroom. In 2006, I completed a B.S. in Education and began my teaching career. I have taught courses in Family and Consumer Sciences, Human Sciences and Education, Health Sciences and Special Education. I earned a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction/Career and Technical Education in 2019. In 2020, I completed an administrative certificate for grades 7-12 and obtained Trauma-Skilled Specialist Certification. I am currently completing a Specialist Degree from the Univeristy of Nebraska-Kearney.

Teaching a diverse courseload for 14 years provided the gift of teaching thousands of students, each with unique backgrounds, perspectives and needs. My current role here at Scottsbluff has presented an incredible opportunity to incorporate my understanding of the helping professions with my passion for students and their education. I enjoy collaborating with our school and community stakeholders as we strive to support our students and their connectedness to school.
