Most parents would like very much to know what their children are learning at school but, for most of us, it's often hard to get much deeper than "nothing" or "just another day..." when raising that topic at home. This portion of the SBPS website is intended to help out with these discussions and, even more importantly, help parents gain insight into their own children's academic progress and strengthen important connections between their lives at school and their lives at home.
It is important that all parents reference these Learning Guides in order to help reinforce the learning that is occurring at school. They can be particularly helpful tools to use in family discussions about homework and study time, planning family activities and conversations that support academics, reviewing grade reports or assignments, and preparing for parent-teacher meetings and conferences.
