New Online Tool Shows SBPS Property Owners Their Savings from Falling SBPS Tax Levy
Free, address-based calculator pulls live valuation data to estimate year-over-year property tax savings as the District's levy has declined
Scottsbluff Public Schools is proud to announce the launch of the Property Tax Savings Calculator, a free online tool that lets property owners within the District see how much they have saved as the District's property tax levy has decreased in recent years. The tool is available now at sbpstaxsavings.com.
Residents can look up their savings by entering either a property address or an owner name. The calculator then pulls live assessed valuation data from Nebraska Taxes Online and compares the district's levy each year against its own actual levy from the year before, giving property owners a personalized, year-by-year look at how levy reductions have translated into real savings on their tax bill.
SBPS's levy fell significantly during recent years, one of the more substantial reductions among Nebraska districts, and this tool provides a personal calculation from 2022-2025 including the school tax credit made available from the State of Nebraska the past two tax years.
“We know property taxes are top of mind for many residents of our district, and we wanted to give people a simple, transparent way to see exactly what our levy reductions have meant for their own tax bill,” said Melissa Price, Director of Communications, who created the tool. “School finance can be complicated, but our goal is to go beyond high-level numbers to provide a personalized way for our citizens to see the real benefit they have received.”
