Welcome to the Panther team at BMS!
My Name is Kira Holloway and this will be my first year teaching at BMS and my second year teaching for the district. In the 2018/2019 school year I taught at Lincoln Heights and chose to take a year off to stay home with my little one. I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona where I attended Arizona State University and received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education as well as my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specific focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders. I taught in Phoenix for 7 years before moving to Scottsbluff in 2018. Before moving to the area, I also became a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Adolescent Math. I have taught all grade levels ranging from 3rd to 8th grade but I have a special place in my heart for teaching middle school students...specifically math.
I am beyond excited for the schoolyear despite how untraditional it may be. We will be utilizing the amazing resources this district has to offer to help all students have a safe and successful schoolyear. We will continue to use the Illustrative Math Curriculum this school year but will utilize the McGraw-Hill interface, which will greatly help us when it comes to distance learning.
