AT HOME PREPARATION: A students progress in band will depend on what is achieved during daily home practice sessions. Learning takes place at school, but proficiency is gained at home.

Students are expected to take their instruments home daily and on weekends.

Students will see more improvement if they practice daily for shorter periods of time than if they try to do all of their practicing in one weekend. In other classes, students have homework. In band, a students homework is their practice time at home.

Parents, a key element to your child's success on his/her instrument will be your support. Very rarely will a child practice without having to be told. Practicing, to the student, becomes a chore, but it is a cycle; practice makes you good, which leads to fun and makes you want to play your instrument more. With the proper guidance and support from you, both you and your child will see the benefits of good practice. Please refer to the back of the practice record or to the website for some guidelines to help your child at home.

***Reminder: Your REQUIRED practice sheets are DUE each MONDAY (or the first day of the week)

    Week #36 Practice Sheet (dated 5/3 - 5/9)

    is due Monday, May 10

  • Clubs Choice Fundraising Clubs Choice Fundraiser

We will be starting our annual Clubs Choice Fundraising event on Wednesday, February 3rd. This year's fundraiser will look much different than it has in the past. The students will not have an order form to fill out. The students will not need to collect any money. The students will not be delivering merchandise after the sale is over. This year's fundraiser will be completely contact free. All sales will all be completed online. Payment for the merchandise will be made online. Merchandise will be delivered directly to the home of the purchaser. The sale is slated to last 2 weeks (February 3-16), however, people can continue to shop online after the end of the school year and we will continue to receive the profits from the additional merchandise that is sold.
Parents, you will be receiving an email from Clubs Choice with more information about how the sale works and with links to our fuindraising page. We ask that you support our fundraising effort by sending the information and links for the online sale to at least 10 people in your personal email contact list. Those that you contact may support the BMS Band by purchasing merchandise or, if they are not interested in making a purchase but would like to support our Band, they may also make an online donation. Please contact Mr. Koch if you do not receive an email from Clubs Choice in the next few days.
You may also use the following link to access the BMS Band fundraising page. Once on this page, cutomers can register and shop for merchandise or make a donation.

Thank you in advance for your help and support of our fundraising efforts.
