  • Field Trip Permission

This year you will be required to sign a field trip permission slip for EVERY field trip your child will attend. This is a change from the previous year when you could sign one slip for the entire year. We have been informed that there were legal issues with that system. Teachers will make every effort to get all slips returned. Students that do not bring back their slips will not be allowed to go on the field trip.

  • New Parking Lot

The new parking lot, located on the west side of the school, is an added benefit to the Westmoor Campus.  This area should not be considered a drop-off area as it is unsafe for students to be walking through the traffic.  Please utilize the 18th Street and Avenue K Loading Zones as before.  Your children’s safety is our biggest priority.

  • Student Pick Up and Drop Off

Students may be dropped off anywhere along the playground as long as they don’t use or cross the parking lot.  K-1 students should go on the east playground in the morning and 2-5 students should play on the west playground.  Teachers are on playground duty 15 minutes before and after school.  Students may be picked up on the east side of the building by the kindergarten room (Ave. K) or by the outdoor learning center (north on 18th)  There are teachers on duty at both places.  Only students eating breakfast should enter the front doors before school.  All others go directly to the playground. The parking lots are not drop off points.

  • Take Home Folders

Communication between home and school is very important.  The first day the folders will contain all the necessary forms for the beginning of school.  Take Home Folders will be sent home every Thursday and returned on Friday mornings.  Watch for these folders each week!
