Safety is one of our main goals at Roosevelt. Adults are on playground duty at 7:50am. Please refrain from arriving prior to adult supervision. If your child is absent from school, please notify the office as soon as possible. The office staff will make phone calls home if your child’s whereabouts is unknown and we have not been contacted by an adult. You may reach the office at 308-635-6259.
Please make sure all forms have been returned to school, so that we are aware of your child’s needs, emergency contact information and ability to participate in extracurricular activities. If your address or phone number has changed, please contact the office at 308-635-6259.
Breakfast/Morning Meeting Schedule
Our breakfast program again this year will be free to all students. Immediately following Morning Meeting in the gym at 8:00am, breakfast will be provided to our students, in their classroom. This is a great way to start our day with a healthy breakfast! Your child will have the choice to eat breakfast. It is not mandatory.
Prior to Morning Meeting, staff will provide supervision on the playground at 7:50am. All students not attending Homework/Reading Club will need to report to the playground before school. All students and staff will enter the gym for Morning Meeting at 8:00am.
Homework/Reading Club will be offered again this year from 7:30-7:50am daily in the library. Any child, kindergarten through fifth grade is welcome to attend. This will allow students to receive additional academic support and guidance before school begins. Students are welcome to attend daily. Students will enter the building through the playground doors, and walk directly to the library.
Again this year, our lunch program will allow your child to choose their main dish, sides, fruits and vegetables as they go through the lunch line. Lunch menus are posted on our website and will be sent home the first day of school with your child. Please visit Food and Nutrition Services for more information. All lunch account questions and balances are handled directly through the kitchen staff. Please contact them at 308-635-6260.
Roosevelt students and teachers are working extremely hard to increase student achievement. Specific academic interventions are provided for your child, based on their performance in the classroom. Please check your child's backpack nightly for notes and/or your child's daily work. Please encourage your child to give 100% every day!
