Gordon worked for over 40 years with the YMCA, conducting numerous fundraising and volunteer campaigns. Gordon has a clear vision of what it will take for Scottsbluff to become a progressive community, and has actively supported projects that enable Scottsbluff to create a more viable economic development environment that attracts new people to the area. Gordon has been named Citizen of the Year twice by the Star Herald.

John Massey has led several fundraising and volunteer campaigns throughout the Scottsbluff/Gering communities, including both United Way and the YMCA. John has worked tirelessly to help with projects that make Scottsbluff/Gering a better place to live and raise a family. John has helped with the new soccer complex and library and has served as a board member for numerous organizations, including the Oregon Trail Foundation, Regional West Medical Center Foundation, Twin Cities Development, United Way, Rotary and the Scottsbluff/Gering Chamber of Commerce. John and Gordon both believe that a quality school is at the heart of every thriving community.
