Booster Club Activities
Ø Tailgates: Held prior to each home football game. 16-20 volunteers needed for each tailgate.
Ø Chili/Soup Suppers: Suppers are sponsored during the fall parent teacher conferences and we try to have one in conjunction with a volleyball game and basketball game. There are about 20 volunteers needed for each event.
Ø TwinCity Pigskin Picnic: Volunteers coordinate with both Scottsbluff and Gering Booster Clubs. The tailgate is held prior to the SHS/GHS Football Game. Volunteers are limitless as we will be getting sponsorships as well as helping cook and serve at the picnic.
Ø Reverse Raffle: Held on New Years Eve. This committee starts working in mid fall and gets sponsorships, sells tickets, and helps coordinate the evening. Volunteers are limitless.
Ø Membership Committee: This committee assists the Membership Chair in getting memberships during the fall and welcoming new students and families to the school throughout the year.
Ø Pancake Feed: In March we hold our annual Pancake Feed at the Kiwanis Lodge. Volunteers are needed to help prep food items prior to the event as well as cook and serve the day of the event. About 30 volunteers are needed for this event, in addition to asking all booster club members to sell tickets to the event.
Ø Alumni Basketball Tournament: Planning starts for this in December and then the event is held in March, during college spring breaks. Volunteers help plan, promote and work the tournament.
Ø Pepler Memorial Golf Tournament: Andy Pepler a loved SHS alumni, SHS parent and friend passed away three years ago. Friends of Andy have coordinated the golf tournament in his memory and all monies go the SHS Booster Club and SHS Athletics. The volunteers for this committee will coordinate with the initiating committee in the spring, and help confirm sponsorships of the tournament as well as register golfers at the tournament (typically held in July).
Ø Calendar Committee: During the spring and summer the calendar committee helps to confirm sponsors, get information needed for the calendar, and bind the calendar.
Ø Spirit Items/DECA: Work with DECA students in ordering and marketing the booster club spirit items 2-3 volunteers needed.
Ø Miscellaneous: During the year we sometimes need additional volunteers for new activities.
