EARLY RELEASE DAY IN MAY SWITCHED FOR DISTRICT TRACK MEET

     Scottsbluff Public School students in kindergarten through 12th grade will be released at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8th, instead of Wednesday, May 7th.  The switch will accommodate the number of staff needed to work the district track meet hosted by Scottsbluff on May 8th.

     “We are very excited to host the B-6 district track meet this year, but it takes a lot of our staff members to organize and run the event,” commented Superintendent Dr. Gary Reynolds.
     High school students will also be released at 1:30 p.m.  They will not have home room, and the class periods will be shortened to 70 minutes on May 8th.

     Field events for the district track meet will begin at 11:00 a.m., track events start at 2:00 p.m.  Season and student passes will not be accepted by the Nebraska Schools Activities Association (NSAA) to enter the district track meet.  Admission set by the NSAA is $5 for adults, $4 for students.

     Schools participating in the B-6 district track meet include:  Alliance, Chadron, Gering, Gordon-Rushville, Gothenburg, McCook, Mitchell, Ogallala, Scottsbluff, Sidney, and Valentine.
