Roosevelt 5th Grader Runner-up in Poster Contest

Roosevelt 5th grader, Jazmin P.,
was named runner up in the Nebraska Arbor Day Poster Contest. She
was presented with an award and honored at 12:50 pm on April 16,
2008 during a ceremony at her Roosevelt.
Jazmin was presented with a $50
savings bond donated by the Nebraska Power Association for her
participation and being named one of the runners up in the contest.
Her teacher, Micheal Macias, received $250 for the purchase of a
tree to be planted at the school and/or new educational materials.
Approximately 700 fifth grade students from nearly 30 Nebraska
schools participated in this year’s contest.
