BMS BAND STUDENTS RATE WELL AT LOCAL CONTEST

Bluffs Middle School Band Students once again performed at the top of their class in the 2008 Western Nebraska Middle Level Solo/Large Ensemble Contest Saturday, March 8th. Students from Bluff Middle School and Gering Junior High competed in the day long event.
With 68 student solos, 46 received a superior rating, 20 received an excellent rating, and 2 received a good rating. The 7/8 grad brass ensemble, percussion ensemble, and woodwind ensemble all received superior ratings as well. Out of the 29 solo/small ensembles from Gering, 17 received superior, 11 excellent, and 1 good.
In the large ensemble performances, the BMS 6th grade concert band received superior ratings from all three judges; BMS 7th grade concert band received superior ratings from all three judges; and BMS 8th grade concert band received superior ratings from all three judges. Gering's 7th grade concert band received an excellent rating, and their 8th grade concert band received a good rating.
