Students sit down and talk with Senator John Harms in Lincoln.

The first day, the group toured the State Capitol Building and visited with Senator John Harms about Nebraska Government. The group also viewed the Unicameral in session while they debated bills.
On the second day, the group participated in the University of Nebraska at Lincoln's Native American/Hispanic Recruitment Day.  This event shows students what campus life is like, as they stayed in dorms, and what to expect in college.  For many, it was their first time in Lincoln.
"The students were awesome," commented trip coordinator Theresa Stands.  "This trip showed the students that there are great things to accomplish after high school.  They [the students] stepped foot on UNL's campus and saw the diversity of the student population, and how they would fit in on a college campus."
