Mrs. Megan Massey
Board of Education Member
Megan Massey has lived in Scottsbluff for 25 years. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1985. She currently works at Oregon Trail Eye Surgery Center. Megan is married to John Massey and they have two children with special needs in the Scottsbluff Public School system.
Megan served on the Special
Education Advisory Council for the Nebraska Department of Education
for 4 years. She was a member of the Federal Interagency
Coordinating Council for 2 years in Washington, DC, which was
organized to effectively coordinate Federal, State and local agency
programs relating to early intervention services for infants,
toddlers, and preschoolers with disabilities and their families.
She served 7 years as a National Board member for the FRAXA
Research Foundation which funds research to find treatments or a
cure for Fragile X Syndrome.
Megan has been involved in her community as a volunteer for United
Way, Camp Scott, Special Olympics and the YMCA. She is a member of
the First United Methodist Church.
She is a co author of the book, Dear Megan Letters of Life, Love and Fragile X.
