About Adopt-A-School

Adopt-A-School is a program of the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce where area businesses and local schools team up to promote education.

Schools are partnered up annually with area businesses and collaborate on various learning and community service projects.  Below are some examples of Adopt-A-School Projects in SBPS. 2012-2013 partners are encouraged to Contact Us with projects and pictures and we will include them on this page.

North Platte NRD visited 6-8th grade classrooms with Arbor day/tree activities and gave small seedlings to students to take home and plant.

On the first Wednesday of every month, associates from Platte Valley Companies visited Longfellow at 8:30 a.m. to partcipate in Stop, Drop, and Read. Associates would read a book, selected by the teacher, to each grade level (K‐4).

Aaron Fabel of the YMCA  (right)presented to Mrs. Ostdiek's 8th grade Food for Fitness class on the topic of “Fitness throughout the Lifespan”.

Roosevelt Elementary students and their partner US Bank (below) created a perishable food item display for Gift of Love.
