Welcome to Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Scottsbluff Public School is the 14th largest school system in the State and the largest district in the Nebraska Panhandle. It is located along the Oregon Trail in western Nebraska. The system serves approximately 2,900 students and is the city's second largest employer with 370 full and part-time employees. Scottsbluff Public Schools offers a full range of academic, vocational, and student support programs designed to provide the maximum opportunities for all children. At Scottsbluff Public Schools, we value our students, our employees, our facilities by:

  • Providing outstanding curriculum utilizing up-to-date resources
  • Providing upgraded technology and access including interactive whiteboards in 95% of our classrooms.
  • Keeping small class sizes with no more than 25 students in each class and keeping grades 1-3 under 20 students.

Although Scottsbluff Public Schools has a lot to offer in its school district, the community offers small town charm with a bigger city feel. Scottsbluff has a thriving economy and local business infrastructure, plenty of shopping and local restaurants. Our Western Nebraska Regional Airport offers direct flights to Denver daily and if you like driving, we are within driving distance from Denver, Cheyenne and Rapid City.

The Scottsbluff/Gering community is home to the Scotts Bluff National Monument. Take in all the beautiful sights and learn about the history of the area. Hike the monument trails, drive to the summit or learn about the Oregon Trail and the Pony Express in the Visitor's Center.

Western Nebraska Community College also calls Scottsbluff home. More than 2,000 students attend the college, which attract students from all over the country and even brings in many students from a variety of other countries. Their diverse student body uses state-of-the-art learning centers, lives in modern residence halls and has countless student organization and activities to be a part of. WNCC is not only a great place to learn, but it is also very well known for its athletics as well. The WNCC Women's Volleyball has held the been the NJCAA Region IV National Champions in 2007 and 2010 and Lady Cougar Softball has held the title of NJCAA Region IV National Champions in both 2010 and 2011.

Regional West Health Services (RWHS) is the parent company for Regional West Medical Center and Regional West Physicians Clinic. With over 1,800 employees, RWHS serves the people and communities of western Nebraska and the neighboring states of Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming. The Regional West family of health care organizations includes over 110 active physicians, 95 percent of whom are board certified or board eligible, plus an additional 25 consulting specialists spanning more than 30 medical specialties.
