Specialized Services

Message from the Director

The Student Services Department embraces the mission of Scottsbluff Public Schools and strives to prepare all students to be capable and confident life-long learners.  We strongly believe that all children can learn and be successful.  The district is committed to providing high quality special education and support services for our students and their families.

Communication with parents is very important in monitoring student progress. Staff members communicate with parents at meetings, Open House and Parent Teacher conferences, or through telephone, email or the use of communication books.  The Student Services Department will continue to work in collaboration with classroom teachers, families and the community to support students in reaching their goals.  Feel free to call or email us any celebrations or struggles which take place, so we can form a solid partnership along your child’s educational journey.  All children can learn as a result of the partnership and proactive communication our teachers have with you and your child(ren).  We appreciate your support of our efforts to better educate your child.  You are our partner in the educational process, and we appreciate your participation.

Mrs. Wendy Kemling-Horner, Director of Student Services
