The Scottsbluff Public Schools Strategic Plan is a document that is intended to capture the priorities in place to increase student success throughout the District. The plan is captured on one two-sided document and establishes priorities in each of three critical areas:
1. Quality Teaching and Instructional Programming
2. Safety, Efficiency and Effectiveness
3. Strong Relationships and Equitable Schools
These priorities were established after lengthy analysis of our current student performance data; the results of literally thousands of lengthy perception surveys completed by hundreds of students, staff and parents; and many hours of work by District staff and school-based groups. It reflects a clear and directly stated commitment of accountability on behalf of SBPS staff - all of whom are individually and collectively focused upon the important work we do for students.
By intent, there are no specific start and end dates attached to this document. We anticipate that student needs and community interests will evolve over time and necessitate reviews and revisions of these goals. The work is ongoing and benchmarks of progress will be reported to the Board of Education each quarter. Additionally, all schools are developing their own document that identifies specific targets of their own that will address the same four priorities in a manner specific to their own students' needs and are consistent with the systemic districtwide Strategic Plan. These school based documents are currently being developed and will be posted on each school's webpage.
We welcome community feedback on both the district Strategic Plan and the building level targets as they are developed. Please feel welcome to contact any staff member with questions or ideas.
